Team Profile 2013: #31 Doughty Engineering

Doughty Racing – a merry band of cycle and engineering enthusiasts, athletes and professionals with one aim: To spend hundreds of hours lovingly crafting a fine human powered vehicle, then race it to the edge of destruction.

Since their debut at Ringwood in 2012 the Doughty team admit they have come down with the pedalcar bug. The MK1 car has since been restyled with a complete bodykit, hydration system, speedo, lighting and new seating – together with constant tikering to get the total weight down and average speeds up.

Since 2012 the car has proven its reliability with no mechanicals whatsoever with 10th at the Blackbushe 100, and 8th plus the fastest lap at the Bruntingthorpe 10hr and it won't stop there – pending funding there are plans for a completely new car for 2014 - calling all sponsors!

With new blood including a former tour de France rider, if all goes well there are high hopes for a good place for the Shenington 24hr as they aim for the top teams – whatever happens it's going to be fun on an epic scale.

Big thanks to their current sponsors:
